Hello Kitty may be actually terrifying to some of us, but a 5-year-old Pennsylvania girl has been dubbed a "terrorist threat" and suspended from school over a Hello Kitty bubble shooter, the New York Daily News reports. The girl was waiting for the school bus when she told a friend, "I’m going to shoot you and I will shoot myself" with the pink toy gun, a family lawyer tells PennLive. She didn't have the gun with her at the time.
School officials questioned the kids about the incident, prompting a 10-day suspension, the lawyer says; according to the Daily Item, the questioning allegedly lasted three hours. The girl "was told she could go to jail, which is a very traumatic thing for a 5-year-old to live with," her mother says. "This little girl is the least terroristic person in Pennsylvania," the lawyer adds. Following a parental request, the suspension has reportedly been cut to two days for threatening a fellow student.
